On December 17, 2017, AAGG held a forum with California Supreme Court justice Goodwin Liu in Cupertino.  Justice Goodwin Liu discussed his research project with Yale Law School: A Portrait of Asian Americans in the Law. In this research, its authors discovered that only 4 of 2,437 elected prosecutors and 3 out of 97 US Attorneys in office are Asian Americans. The research concluded that the lack of mentorship and other factors have created a shortages of Asian legal professionals pursuing public service positions.

Cupertino Mayor Darcy Pau welcomed Justice Liu to come to Cupertino and thanked him for taking time to work with Chinese attorneys on issues that may affect their careers.  Deputy District Attorney of Santa Clara Charlie Huang introduced Justice Liu. More than 40 young Chinese attorneys attended the event.
